$13 Million Jury Verdict in Fatal Head-On Car Crash

Michelle Anderson, 36, was driving in the southbound lane of the highway when Calvin Adams, traveling in the opposite direction, attempted to pass a line of traffic in a no-passing zone.

Adams crossed the centerline and struck Anderson’s car head-on.

Both drivers were killed in the crash. Anderson was survived by her husband and three minor children.

Anderson’s estate sued Adams’s estate, alleging liability for his negligent driving. The lawsuit claimed that Adams had been driving 90 mph on a curved part of the roadway when he attempted to pass the cars in front of him. The Anderson family did not claim lost income.

The jury signed a verdict for $13 million for this wrongful death case.

The attorneys successfully handling this lawsuit for the Anderson family were Richard K. Slinkman and Ryan Wynne.
